This project explains about the implementation a cutting process by punching. A hydraulic press was used for the study. An analysis of the sheet metal cutting process was performed through simulation in ANSYS, using the Explicit Dynamics work module.
A brief definition of the fundamental parts of a die is made at the level of tooling and the different types of punches found in the industry.
It indicates the materials and calculations for the design of the matrix as the efforts of the hydraulic press and cutting, with their respective equations.
A brief introduction is made to the ANSYS Software and to the module in which we are working for the sheet metal cutting analysis. Also several simulations are also executed with the variation of slack and punch forms, which can be performed in the Software, with the parameters of the program or also created to the need of what is being simulated.
You can see the analysis and comparison of the results was obtained from the simulations achieved in chapter three.
