This technical project contains of the design, development, and validation of a biaxial seismic simulator, for the most common structures used in construction, considering metallic structures such as steel and aluminum, as well as wooden structures. The main characteristic of this biaxial seismic simulator is the ease with which structural analysis can be carried out quickly and precisely, taking into account the behavior of structures, such as deformations in the elements used, as well as in the joints and anchors of these when simulating a telluric movement in the simulator. Said Simulator is designed to simulate seismic movements using various speeds, accelerations and therefore frequencies based on seismic scales.
The project is divided into two important branches. The initial of these branches is the design of each component integrated into the Simulator, including variants such as types of materials to use; as well as the verification of said components through pertinent calculations, this being the main basis of the project. The second branch will be supported by simulations carried out both on the simulator and on the analysis of each structure depending on its material.
Lastly, it is essential to say that the project was based on a specialized methodology in the application of technical software, such as INVENTOR, which performs work plans and components. As well as SOLIDWORKS that simulates the movement and the applied force of the simulator, and lastly SAP 2000 and Excel to carry out the structural analysis.
