In the present degree work, the design process is detailed, in addition to the construction and selection of the different components that will make up the injection machine, which has as its objective the casting of plastic by means of resistances and a spindle mechanism for the movement of the material with which it is intended to inject filament that is used as raw material in 3D printers.
To carry it out, low-density polyethylene plastic is used, with which spools containing filament of the established material are generated. For this purpose, the different injection characteristics are investigated, with which the appropriate parameters with which to work in the injection of the filament for 3D printers were determined.
For the winding of the filament inside the reel, a secondary machine is built consisting of a tensioner, a positioning system, and a winding mechanism, which will have the objective of collecting the filament.
SolidWorks software is used to verify the correct dimensioning of the different elements that are part of the main structure of the equipment, in which these components will be subjected to different efforts with the loads used to know how each material would work to the applied forces, thus determining if the construction is feasible through this simulation.
With the evaluation of these parameters by means of the simulation and the selection of components, the construction of the equipment was carried out with which the results are subsequently evaluated, in which the correct operation of the machine is observed with respect to the injection of filament in a fluid way for its subsequent winding inside the spool with the secondary machinery in charge of collecting the material.
Finally, a cost analysis is carried out, where the profitability parameters of the project are observed, evidencing a positive indicator for the construction of the 3D filament injection machine.
