Resumen
Actually, Ecuador's public health institutions clearly lack an information system that would automate and improve the process of bed allocation and management, and this project was created to address this need.
The design and development of the Platform for bed management and quality indicators for the Pediatric Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Nueva Aurora Luz Elena Arismendi allows the automation and standardization of the processes of the Hospitalization and Statistics Department, optimizing resources and providing an efficient service to patients and families.
The use of the XP (Extreme Programming) methodology was fundamental for the development of this project since it is completely adapted to the proposed needs and allows constant and direct interaction with the client. Planning, pair coding, and constant testing helped detect potential problems early, allowing for agile iterations throughout the project stage.
This system helps to employ the correct process flow for bed allocation, as well as the functions that the personnel must fulfill to provide a quality service. In addition, the system generates reports and graphs according to the user's needs for the respective analysis and decision making.
