The present degree thesis presents a case analysis, centred on active and participative methodological strategies. This analysis was developed with a group of students in the fourth year of general basic education belonging to a private educational unit, located in the south of the city of Quito.
This analysis seeks to present a different alternative to the traditional model, which leads to the application of such strategies based on and supported by Cooperative Learning, Problem-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning, and even in various routines and thinking skills, which are within the active methodologies, where student participation is unavoidable.
Finally, it should be noted that, among the findings, results and final reflections, the abilities, skills and motivation generated by the use of active methodologies, driven by the atmosphere they create, are key to the development of the Natural Sciences class, which leads to a change of outlook on the part of the pupils regarding the activities that are carried out, and the conception of active strategies as a novelty that does not generate results that are evident in the reality of the school.
