Resumen
In the present investigation, an analysis of the mechanical resistance was carried out
in anchor bolts up to 1/2 inch in diameter, used in metallic structures. To carry out this
type of study, a universal machine of the TestResources brand was used where 8 tensile
tests were carried out on each millimeter specimen M8, M10 and specimen 1/2 and
3/8 inches in diameter, with a total of 112 tests by applying 4 variants in each kind of
bolt. The first variation is a bolt machined by chip removal from 14 mm diameter rebar,
the second change in the machined bolt refers to the application of a tropicalized
galvanizing process, the third variant is a rolled bolt purchased in Castillo Hermanos -
Sede Guajaló and the last variety is found in the galvanized rolled bolt, these variations
were made on all bolts except for the 3/8 ” bolt, since this type of bolt with full thread
does not exist in the current market. In this way, it was possible to determine which
bolts of 3/8 ” machined without coating, 1/2” rolled galvanized, M8 rolled galvanized
and M10 rolled galvanized are the most suitable to be used in metal structures due to
their maximum load values maximum of 32822.66, 82796.92, 34133.06, 57344.17 N,
maximum tensile strength of 496.26, 674.69, 722.06, 730.13 MPa and elastic limit of
271.56, 514.26, 600.43, 633.96 MPa in each case.
