A nuclear polvhedrosis virus (x polyhedra = 1.60 x 1.50 p) with multiple enveloped nucleocapsids was found infecting Spodoptera frugiperda larvae collected in corn (Zea mays) plants in Venezuela. A dosis of 6 106 polyhedra ingested by 7 or 10 day-old larvae caused 100 percent mortality with median lethal time of 4.7 and 7.3 days for each age group respectively.
