A checklist of recorded asexual fungi from Costa Rica is presented. This study compiles information from 1927 to 2018 based on scientific papers, theses, reviews of hyphomycetous and coelomycetous fungi, dermatophyte clinical studies, clinical samples from phytopathological laboratory services and specimens collected during the expedition to Costa Rica carried out in 2012 in collaboration with the International Society for Fungal Conservation. All taxa included in this checklist are binomials and it includes 682 species belonging to 301 genera. Half of them have been reported as fungal pathogens, the remaining ones are saprobes, endophytes or asociated with insect, human and other fungal hosts. Forty six taxa are reported for the first time from Costa Rica.
