This work had the general objective to diagnose the occurrence of the illegal fishing in the state of Amapa. It were analyzed records contained in the Assessment Notices issued by IBAMA in the period 1995-2012. It were tilled 521 AN which results on application of 510 warnings and 11 fines, that totaled the amount of R$ 2.458.488,98 and seizure of 31.939,15 kg of fish, 2.900 crabs, a sirenian freshwater and turtles (quantity not specified) . There were records of fishing violations in 13 of 16 counties of Amapa, especially in Oiapoque, Amapa, Calçoene, Santana and Macapa that concentrated 88,67% of procedures. The most frequent violations comitted were “fishing in period or banned local/without prior registration, enrollment, authorization, license, permit or registration by the competent body, or in disagreement with that obtained” and “engage in fishing without registration / enrollment in IBAMA (fisherman and vessel)”. The size of the vessels varied between 7,00 and 24,50 m in length and capacity of between 1,00 and 75,30 TAB. Between 2002 and 2003, it were assessments that envolved foreign vessels from Venezuela and French Guiana. It were record of seizure of 31 species of fish, the most common being the Curimatã, Pescada and Corvina. About the fishing gear, were seized 101.072 meters of fishing net, four lanterns, four radios, four spears, three GPS, three harpoons, two dive masks and a weight belt. Of all AN, 119 were recorded in conservation units, including 110 in Parna Cable Orange, corresponding to 79,14% of total tilled procedures in those areas. It was concluded that the supervision realized by Ibama has not occurred efficiently and systematically, providing opportunities to the occurrence of illegal fishing in the state of Amapa, causing economic and environmental demages
