Resumen
The new type of materials available all around the world, from enzymes or antibodies to nanomaterials, molecular imprinting polymers and surface modified products will be considered on the light of tremendous improvements of analytical processes from sample preparation to analytical measurement, giving special attention to the potential side effects of this new generation of reagents and materials. The development of smart materials plays an important role in the current analytical chemistry and opens new fields based on the special functional properties of these materials, giving great advantages to classical analytical methods with the improvement of selectivity, sensitivity, ease of use, rapidity and miniaturization.
