Abstract
In order to better understand the evolution of continental plateaus in an Andean type plate boundary, have conducted an international passive-source seismologic investigation of the lithosperic structure of the southern Puna plateau. The Puna plateau offers a unique opportunity to study a region where lithospheric delamination may be ocurring or where there has been a delamination event in the last 4 Myr. This region has also undergone rather rapid changes in the angle of the subduction of the Nazca plate over the past 20 million years.
