Resumen
Wakefulness is one of the daily recurring states of arousal, during which neuralnetworks actively acquire external information, continuously sense and logicallyprocess them, and continuously control voluntary movements. The reticularactivating system (RAS) serves to modulate the oscillating rhythms betweenthalamocortical networks, directly controlling transitions in EEG activity duringsleep-wake states.
