Resumen
Más allá de los razonamientos estrictamente deductivos, el sentido común nos lleva a construir argumentos cuyas conclusiones arriesgan más de lo que las premisas garantizan. Pero esto no es un vicio de nuestro pensamiento, sino una virtud. Sin argumentos de este tipo, las decisiones que nos permiten llevar adelante la vida diaria serían imposibles. El estudio de la argumentación rebatible ha devenido en una disciplina que se ha encargado de sistematizar este tipo de razonamientos, fuertemente impulsada en los años 90 por la Inteligencia Artificial en su búsqueda de simular el conocimiento y el razonamiento humanos en computadoras. Este libro ofrece una serie de trabajos en los que se han intentado modelar distintos aspectos de la argumentación rebatible utilizando herramientas formales, pero siempre teniendo en cuenta ejemplos y explicaciones comprensibles para el lector no especializado.
