Resumen
The chapter analyses the contribution of transitional justice mechanisms (trials, truth, reparations and amnesty laws) to accountability for crimes committed during the last dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983), arguing that the country experienced an erratic back-and-forth trajectory in transitional justice policies through the first two decades of transition (1983 to 2003) until a point of convergence between state authorities will and civil society demands from 2003. It emphasizes that the efforts of these actors have gradually led to the consolidation of accountability strategies, though there is still a lack of synergies between mechanisms and many obstacles that remain unsolved.
