Resumen
The Buenos Aires plain in central-east Argentina generates economic resources based on agriculture, which is strongly influenced by precipitation. In this work different variability factors were studied using monthly precipitation in 22 stations for the period 1950-2012. A generalized annual precipitation decrease was observed in the most of Buenos Aires. Interannual precipitation variability is influenced by different forcing that act depending on the area and time of year. Several indices were used to prove this relationship and two conceptual models were developed to better understand the processes involved that affect seasonal precipitation.
