Resumen
En estas páginas examinaré dos textos dramáticos de Griselda Gambaro escritos y llevados a escena en la primera década del siglo XXI: La señora Macbeth (2002)1 y La persistencia (2004).2 Constituyen tanto una continuidad morfotemática de sus piezas teatrales anteriores como una profundización de la cuestión del poder, tema que recorre la obra de Gambaro desde sus primeras obras, como Las paredes (1963) y El campo (1967), hasta las más recientes, y que la autora señala como una de las constantes de su teatro (Gambaro en Roster 44). Además, tanto en La señora Macbeth como en La persistencia, al igual que en numerosas obras anteriores, Gambaro plantea y cuestiona el vínculo de la mujer con el poder y su posición ante la violencia ejercida en los dominios privado y público. Si el carácter patriarcal de la sociedad hace que las costumbres del ámbito íntimo envuelvan relaciones de poder (y, por tanto, estén impregnadas de política), las que están en la base del resto de las estructuras de dominación se desarrollan en el ámbito privado (ver Millet): en ambas obras notamos la vida familiar como ámbito de producción de dominación masculina y de sumisión de los dos personajes femeninos a sus respectivos esposos.
