Resumen
Este trabajo dialoga con la historiografía económica internacional sobre el nivel de vida de los trabajadores a partir del cálculo de una serie homogénea y continua de salarios reales del peón de la construcción de la ciudad de Mendoza, en el ciclo expansivo de la economía nacional y regional dinamizado por la actividad agroindustrial vitivinícola y la expansión de la estructura administrativa del Estado provincial. El recorte temporal contempla la disponibilidad de información a partir de 1895, con la realización del Segundo Censo Nacional de Población, el registro de compras de las reparticiones estatales provinciales y el crecimiento exponencial de la producción agropecuaria nacional que estimuló la recuperación de la demanda de vino, con el consecuente impacto sobre la producción que se había derrumbado durante la crisis sectorial de 1900-1903.
