Resumen
La ballena franca austral, Eubalaena australis, es una especie muy estudiada en las costas patagónicas, principalmente en Península Valdés donde se registran actualmente entre 2000 y 3000 ejemplares que llegan para aparearse y tener crías. Sin embargo, localmente, son escasos los trabajos. Con el objetivo de ampliar el conocimiento sobre E.australis en la zona costera central del Golfo San Jorge, se realizaron observaciones desde la costa durante los años 2013-2016 cubriendo aproximadamente 20 km, desde el ANP Punta Marqués (45°56´S, 67°32´O), hasta el paraje “La Lobería” (46° 06ʹS, 67° 32ʹO).
