Resumen
In the Cuyo region (Argentine), Oxalis erythrorhiza Gillies ex Hooker et Arnott (Oxalidaceae; Oe) is popularly consumed as a "medicinal plant" to regulate the level of glucose and cholesterol. The recent chemical characterization of Oe revealed the presence of an antidiabetogenic compound. We have previously reported that Oe produces beneficial properties on rats with experimental induced diabetes.
