In this study it is analyzed the collection, processing and use of plants and colors in the works carried out by artisans from Qom and Wichí peoples, in relation to artisanal promotion agents. The ethnographic research method was applied. The collection of information, in alternation with periods of systematization and reflection on the material collected, took place between August 2012 and August 2018.The colors used by artisans come mainly from plants that grow in the bush which present visual and temporal variations. Visual variations have to do with the recipes followed to make them and with the qualities of the materials used. Temporal variations relate to fruiting times, climatic conditions and the time and space required for regeneration. These variations give an account of the framework in which plants grow and incorporate a (or several) surprising element(s) in the fabric. The surprise of color is often considered a problem in selling handicrafts. To remedy this situation, production is encouraged through commissioned models and by the use of devices that accelerate drying times and that concentrate colors. Thus, the increase in the speed of commercial circulation limits the elements of surprise in colors in the creative process.
