Los herederos de los abuelos: Sobre la socialización religiosa en familias de diferentes credos en Buenos Aires

Abstract

This paper analyze the socialization in families belonging to differents religious traditions and living in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. The aims of this qualitative research is understand how is the transgenerational memory transmission and how the religion builds family. The theoretical approach is from the sociology of religion and the family is one of the places of the social construction of reality with the aims of understand the religious memories and experiences through owns practices. The results highlight the influence of religious ethos on family descendants, the presence of grandparents in the family’s memories and the unlineal trajectory in the transgenerational transmission of families, that include tensions between the beloging to the group and the own individuality.

Este artículo examina cualitativamente la socialización religiosa en familias que pertenecen a diferentes tradiciones religiosas y que viven en el Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires con la finalidad de entender cómo se transmite la memoria transgeneracional y cómo la religión construye familia. La perspectiva de análisis parte de la sociología de la religión y entiende la familia como uno de los lugares privilegiados de construcción social de la realidad con el objetivo de comprender cómo se recuerda, cómo se experimenta lo religioso y cuáles son sus prácticas. Los resultados destacan la influencia del ethos religioso en la descendencia familiar, la presencia de los abuelos en los recuerdos familiares y bifurcaciones en la transmisión transgeneracional de familias de pertenencia distintas que dan cuenta de las tensiones entre el grupo y las individualidades.
