Ce travailreprend le chemin tracé par un ensemble d´ ethnographies qui ont orienté leursrecherches sur l´analyse des processus collectifs de définition de certainsévénements comme catastrophes ou tragédies. Le regard que je porte ici sur cesévénements cherche à compléter le regard ethnographique, en donnant la prioritéà l´analyse du risque et de la vulnérabilité des populations. J´analyse enparticulier le cas de l´incendie du local República Cromañón qui a eu lieu à Buenos Aires en 2004, essayant de rendre compte des manières dont lesdifférents acteurs expérimentent et interprètent le sanctuaire un mémorialconstruit par les familles. J´ étudie pourcela les interactions établies entre victimes, politiciens et experts en santémentale dans le contexte de divers conflits qui ont surgit lors de l´ éventuellesuppression du sanctuaire. D´ une part, ces acteurs ont eu recours à uneinterprétation commune en évoquant le lien entre douleur, souffrance et trauma,et en soulignant la nécessité de respecter le deuil des victimes. D´ autre part,il est également possible d observer le phénomène inverse mais complémentaire:ceux qui ont agit selon une position commune ont fait appel à différents typesd´ explications (scientifiques, religieuses, techniques, etc.). Dans cecontexte, je me propose d expliciter la manière dont ces acteurs délimitent deschamps d´ intervention et de légitimité fondés sur des critères hétérogènes,sans présupposer des frontières qui semblent les séparer.
