Resumen
This paper presents the results of qualitative and quantitative petrographic characterization (with point counting) of 35 pastes from several vessels recovered from Pukara de La Cueva (HUM.06) and the Antiguito (ANT) site (quebrada de La Cueva, Humahuaca, Jujuy, Argentina). The sample (stylistically attributed to the Regional Developments II and Inca periods) almost exclusively reflects the geological features typical of the landscape around Pukara de La Cueva (HUM.06), where the Puncoviscana Formation is dominant. We propose that during the later occupation of the quebrada, pottery was primarily locally manufactured, providing limited evidence of regional interaction.
