In this paper we present an algorithm to correctfor attenuation by absorption plus scattering, the horizontalreflectivity factor Zh of a polarimetric radar belonging to theExperimental Station of INTA, located in the town of Oro Verde,Entre Rios, Argentina. The data corresponds to storms occurredNovember 18, 2009. The correction obtained was compared withmodels from the literature. The results show good agreementfor regions with reflectivity factor lower than 55 dBZ, while forregions that go over this limit the corrections are very different.Comparisons with rain gauges indicate the need of more statisticsto improve the correlation.
