Resumen
El propósito de este trabajo es presentar diversas experiencias de mapeo participativo (MP) emprendidas en el continente americano para el estudio y la gestión de paisajes históricos y arqueológicos. Dada la cantidad de denominaciones empleadas en estos proyectos desde la década de 1970 (las mismas pueden ser consultadas en Álvarez Larrain y McCall, 2018a), por razones operativas y de espacio, los ejemplos citados aquí son englobados bajo el término de MP. Para la revisión hemos seleccionado literatura arqueológica que explícitamente menciona el uso de métodos cartográficos con comunidades locales y/o indígenas; así como publicaciones sobre proyectos de mapeo territorial emprendidos por geógrafos, antropólogos y ONGs, pero que mencionan el mapeo de lugares históricos, arqueológicos y/o sagrados y culturales.
