Resumen
The objective of this work is to reflect on the sensibilities related to dying and death, in the context of the current coronavirus pandemic. The presentational strategy that we have envisaged in this regard begins by defining and establishing the theoretical perspective in which our proposal is framed: the sociology of bodies/emotions. Then we go back to another global crisis that occurred a century ago, known as the Spanish Flu. The reason for this is to recover some antecedents that allow us to enrich our approach to this phenomenon that is still ongoing; not in comparable terms (since both episodes are not), but rather illustrative. Finally, we will deal with the three traits that, in our opinion, characterize the collective bond with the dying and corpses at the present moment: mediated death, regulated death, and cherished death.
