dc.description.abstractSafflower is an anternative crop adapted to semiarid regions that would allow to optimize land occupation by crops. Currentlyit is grown in Salta, Santiago del Estero, Chaco provinces and in smaller areas in the semiarid Pampas. It grows slowly especially in emergency and in the rosettestage, so weed problems exists.
