Resumen

Our investigations (1924-1930) have shown us that the pituitary gland is one of the most important endocrine factors in the regulation of carbohydrate metabolism. This fact had remained unknown up to the present, but the significant frequency of glycosuria and diabetes in the course of acromegaly might have indicated its existence.
