Resumen
En la mayoría de los sistemas de producción, los granos y forrajes son almacenados, para evitar el deterioro y mantener el contenido nutritivo. El almacenamiento se realiza utilizando silos y pueden comprender períodos que alcancen varios meses antes de su comercialización y/o utilización. El ensilaje es un método de preservación de los cultivos (alfalfa, cebado, trigo, sorgo, maíz, etc) basado en la fermentación de las bacterias ácido lácticas (BAL) epificas bajo condiciones anaeróbicas.
