Resumen
En 1918, después de más de un siglo de división entre los países vecinos, Polonia recuperó la independencia. Desde los primeros momentos resultó evidente que el país sufría de una gran inestabilidad política, económica y social, a lo que se sumó una muy alta tasa de desocupación. En estas circunstancias, la emigración se presentaba como una manera viable de atenuar los múltiples problemas por los que atravesaba el país y las autoridades empezaron a promover abiertamente las salidas del país. Paralelamente, en Argentina, una vez concluida la I Guerra Mundial, empezaron a plantearse las interrogantes sobre la actitud que debería adoptarse ante el fenómeno migratorio, así como sobre la cantidad y la calidad de los inmigrantes que se iban a recibir. En el presente trabajo nos proponemos analizar cómo las políticas migratorias en el país de origen y en el de destino afectaron a los movimientos migratorios entre Polonia y Argentina.
