Resumen
El agua potable corresponde a un servicio básico e indispensable para la reproducción de la vida, no obstante es recién a partir de los últimos años que la noción de derecho al agua ha comenzado a ganar protagonismo dentro de la agenda de los organismos internacionales, como así también de los gobiernos locales y nacionales. De acuerdo a la definición de los tratados internacionales, el derecho humano refiere al derecho que toda persona tiene a disponer de agua suficiente, salubre, aceptable, accesible y asequible para el uso personal y doméstico.A diez años de la re-estatización del servicio, el presente artículo se propone ahondar, a partir del análisis de datos censales y la revisión de documentos oficiales del sector, en qué medida la "nueva" gestión estatal ha logrado trascender la mercantilización o comodificación del agua, centrada en la idea del agua como bien económico , para avanzar hacia el cumplimiento del "derecho humano al agua", centrado en la idea de garantizar la accesibilidad y universalización del servicio dentro del área de concesión .
