dc.descriptionLas tecnologías sanitarias (TS) son todos los recursos que se utilizan con el fin de satisfacer las necesidades sanitarias individuales o colectivas de los individuos; donde los medicamentos pueden ser considerados como una de las más importantes. Las patologías crónicas, como el glaucoma, donde los tratamientos son prolongados, son un ejemplo de la importancia del uso de las TS. El glaucoma es una neuropatía óptica crónica y evolutiva que puede concluir en ceguera sin el tratamiento adecuado. El tratamiento radica en disminuir la presión intraocular con diferentes estrategias, siendo la más utilizada el uso de fármacos hipotensores. El objetivo del presente artículo es hacer una revisión acerca del uso y esquemas terapéuticos de estos medicamentos, en la práctica oftalmológica.
dc.descriptionThe sanitary technologies (TS) can be defined as all resources used aiming to satisfy the individual or collective sanitary requirements of people; where medicines could be considered as one of the most used. Chronic pathologies, such as glaucoma, require long term treatments and, in this context, the importance of TS became relevant. The glaucoma is an optical chronic evolutionary neuropathy which can produce blindness if an appropriate treatment is not provided. The treatment is based on the diminution of intraocular pressure using several strategies in which the administration of hypotensive drugs is one of the most used. The aim of the present article is to describe the use of this kind of medicines and their respective therapeutic schemes of administration, in the current ophthalmologic practice.
