| dc.description | Con el fin de evaluar la posible incidencia en el ajuste posológico con teofilina, se realizó un estudio in vivo sobre 6 voluntarios sanos, administrándoles una infusión de yerba mate por un período de 7 días. Se cuantificaron teofilina y cafeína en plasma por cromatografia líquida de alta eficacia (HPLC), revelándose la formación de teofilina como producto de la metabolización de la cafeína. El análisis de la infusión mostró la existencia de cafeína y teobromina, no así de teofilina. La concentración de teofilina luego de 7 días de administración osciló entre 0,62 y 1,59 ug/ml para los distintos sujetos, valores que pueden incrementarse si se ingieren concomitantemente otras bebidas con xantinas. | |
| dc.description | The aim of this study is to evaluate the possible incidence in the dosage adjustment of Theophylline. An in vivo study was carried out with 6 healthy volunteers after the administration of an infusion of "mate herb" for a period of 7 days. Plasma Theophilline and Caffeine levels were analysed by high performance iiquid chromatography (HLPC), revealing the formation of Theophylline as a metabolism product of Caffeine. The analysis of the infusion showed presence of Caffeine and Theobromine, but not Theophylline. After 7 days of administration the Theophylline concentration oscillated between 0.62 and 1.59 ug/ml for the different individuals; these values can be increased with concomitant intake of other beverages containing xanthines. | |
