| dc.description | El siguiente trabajo busca bordar la dinámica social, económica y política en la que se enmarca el proceso de consolidación del sector comerciante en tanto actor político influyente en el poder local. Dicho proceso se ubica entre los últimos años del siglo XIX y las primeras décadas del siglo XX en Rio Cuarto, provincia de Córdoba. Con la intención de identificar diferentes estrategias utilizadas por este sector, se seleccionaron tres familias de inmigrantes abocadas al comercio: Remedi, Jorba y Daguerre. La selección de dichas familias no fue de manera arbitraria sino que respondió a la presencia de éstas en los diferentes momentos considerados fundamentales para la consolidación del sector, además de estar las tres vinculadas por alianzas matrimoniales y compartiendo múltiples espacios de sociabilidad. Esta investigación no procura el estudio exhaustivo de las trayectorias familiares, sino el considerar al sector comerciante como actor colectivo. Además, se busca profundizar en la participación política de este sector, identificando los diferentes canales mediante los cuales intentan formar parte del poder local: el partidario y el corporativo. | |
| dc.description | The present paper attempts to examine the social, economic and politic dynamic involved in the consolidation process of the business sector as a political actor which influences the local power. This process takes place during the last years of the 19th century and the early decades of the 20th century in Río Cuarto, Province of Córdoba, Argentina. In order to identify different strategies employed by this sector, three immigrant families engaged in commercial activities were selected: Remedi, Jorba and Daguerre. The selection was not arbitrary, it responded to the presence of these families in different moments, considered essential for the consolidation of the sector, and to their connections through covenant marriages and social interaction in several areas. This research does not intend to conduct an in-depth study of the families’ histories, but to consider the business sector as a collective actor. Besides, it intends to delve into the political participation of this sector, identifying the different techniques adopted to take part in the local power: the supportive and the corporative positions. | |
