This project focuses on the archeological analysis of the processes of patrimonialization of the material culture of recent times, nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries, in the Andean Corridor of the high mountain of northern Mendoza. Specifically, those related to metalliferous and non-metalliferous mining activity, the Trasandino Train, National Route 7 and the customs post, the telegraph, agricultural activity, military presence and tourist activity. The ethnography will be used to analyze which materials, furniture and buildings, are used and the discourses elaborated around them, since the patrimony is used differentiatedly by groups and persons and with different purposes and legitimacy. For this reason, the objectives do not focus only on the local community, but different actors will be analyzed -both the official voices, as well as those local and subaltern- such as the municipality, the public and private entities related to tourism, the scientific community and the visitors. The project will be implemented in all the villas with the aim of obtaining a regional vision of the use of materials and heritage construction.
