Resumen
El uso de plantas en el tratamiento de diversas enfermedades ha sido parte del desarrollo humano
y cultural de diferentes poblaciones de acuerdo a las regiones geográficas en que se desarrollaron.
La OMS reporta que un 84 % de la población mundial recurre a la medicina tradicional para el
tratamiento de sus enfermedades, siendo Annona muricata (Guanábana) una de ellas, de la cual
se ha evaluado su potencial anti-cancerígenos con el uso de extractos de la hoja. Sin embargo es
la hepatotoxicidad uno de los efectos que puede estar asociado al uso de plantas medicinales
como esta es por esto que resulta relevante su evaluación.
Objetivo, evaluar el daño hepático ante exposición de infusión de Annona muricata en un modelo
murino mediante técnica histopatológica. Metodología, tras la obtención del extracto acuoso de
Annona muricata se administró a tres grupos de ratones balb-c n = 5 ± 2 a concentraciones de 750,
375 y 187.5 mg/kg/día vía oral durante 5 días de exposición más un grupo control, al final del
tratamiento se sacrificaron y obtuvo muestra de tejido hepático para análisis histopatológico.
Resultados: se observó presencia de necrosis a dosis de 750 mg/kg/día, hepatitis reactiva y
congestión hepática a dosis de 375 mg/kg/día, mientras que a dosis de 187.5 mg/kg/día se observó
un hígado sano. Conclusión: es importante vigilar los cambios hepáticos que ante la exposición a
extractos acuosos de Annona muricata (Guanábana) pueden estar presentes en personas que
consumen de esta forma dicha planta.
