Antes de forjar sus mundos textuales -o justo mientras los forjan- algunos autores necesitan hallar para sí un lugar en este mundo real, y comienzan por buscarlo en ese mundo dentro del mundo que es la tradición literaria. Así lo hizo ver Severino Salazar cuando escribió, en el prólogo a su antología de literatura zacatecana, que deseaba pertenecer como narrador a la tradición "que encabezan escritores como Mauricio Magdaleno, Tomás Mojarro y, en menor medida, Amparo Dávila" .1 Las razones por las que se identifica con esos notables narradores justifican muy bien su propósito de consolidar una narrativa "regional", propósito que trasciende lo literario, ciertamente, pero también lo regional y lo mexicano
