dc.descriptionThe issues regarding the characterization of the present situation of Columbian electricity sector, and the risk responsibility of supply are discussed. The development of a regulatory framework which deals with generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization activities is also discussed. The problems related due to the prolonged period of economic recession, lack of autonomy and independence of the regulatory entity are analyzed. Actions taken by the Government regarding the assignment of public resources to seek out the economic recuperation, and to search for solutions to the internal armed conflict are elaborated.
