Implementación y adaptación del modelo Hurricane Weather Research and Forecasting para el pronóstico de trayectorias de huracanes con afectación en México

Resumen
Por sus condiciones geográficas, México es vulnerable a recibir afectación cada año de ciclones tropicales, también conocidos como huracanes. La formación de estos sistemas meteorológicos, de forma indistinta, se dan tanto en el océano Pacífico como en el Golfo de México, Mar Caribe y océano Atlántico. Entre los desastres naturales asociados a los huracanes se encuentran: inundaciones, deslaves, pérdidas de cultivos, obstrucción de caminos, miles de damnificados y pérdidas económicas millonarias. Por lo anterior, se llevó a cabo la tarea de implementar el modelo Hurricane Weather Research and Forecasting, modelo acoplado océano-atmosfera para el pronóstico de huracanes.
