Inducción de Respuestas de Defensa en Plantas de Tabaco y Vid Mediante la Aplicación de Oligogalacturónidos

Algunas plantas como Ia vid ( Vitis vinifera L. Cv. Flame) y el tabaco (Nicotiana tabacum Cv. Burley) son vulnerables al ataque de hongos durante su desarrollo, cuyos efectos se traducen en pérdidas económicas para ambos cultivos. Actualmente, y a pesar de los riesgos para Ia salud, las aplicaciones de fungicidas sintéticos representan la forma común de control. En esta investigación se plantea como
alternativa la obtención y aplicación de oligogalacturónidos, como compuestos inductores de respuestas defensivas en ambos cultivos. Para cumplir este objetivo, se obtuvo una mezcla de oligogalacturónidos de grado de polimerización de 4 a 20 a través de hidrólisis enzimática y ultrafiltración. Los oligogalacturónidos se asperjaron en hojas de vid y plantas completas de tabaco, en concentraciones de 250 y 500 ppm. Estos compuestos se caracterizaron por HPAEC-PAD. Se determinó su capacidad inductora a través de las actividadades fenilalanina amino-liasa, quitinasa y β-1,3- glucanasa. Los resultados revelaron que los oligogalacturónidos indujeron la
actividad de las tres enzimas en plantas de tabaco con niveles superiores al control (p<0.05); y únicamente la actividad β-1,3-glucanasa, en plantas de vid. El Pectinex XXL demostró poseer actividad depolimerizante poligalacturonasa, eficaz para obtener oligogalacturónidos. Nuestros hallazgos confirman el principio de que los oligogalacturónidos pueden funcionar fortaleciendo las respuestas endógenas de las plantas hacia los fitopatógenos y figurar como una alternativa para disminuir los efectos perjudiciales de los hongos.
