Resumen
The objective of this work consisted in analyzing the relationships among land use, local
climate and microclimates Uptown neighborhood in Cuiaba-MT, during the period from 2011
to 2012, considering the physical transformations of the stadium José Fragelli, located in this
area, and development driven by events planned for the World Cup in 2014. To guide
measures climatological map was prepared to use and occupation of the area with the aid of
the city plan and satellite image, geo-referenced and made available on Google Earth 2012.
The measures to analyze the local climate were recorded hour on automatic meteorological
station installed on ground floor area of residential buildings near the stadium José Fragelli;
produce microclimates related to land use was investigated with mobile measurements using
semi-instruments automatic installed on top of a vehicle that ran a script set by land use map
at 40km / h. The results showed that the spatial organization of the district includes a high
density of buildings with sealed soil and weak occurrence of vegetated surfaces especially in
small squares and yards of homes. The analysis showed local climate variation in average
temperatures of 30.7 º C, with a maximum of 31.2 º C and minimum of 17.4 ° C during the
period, being the hottest month of September with a daily average of 31.2 º C and the most
one was May cold at 17.4 º C. Rainfall obeyed the pace of regional climate, with maximum
total of 459.2 mm in March and no rainfall in July. The observations recorded during the
mobile transects showed that the more densely built areas were the most heated with up to 2.4
º C of difference to those less densely built. Thus it emphasizes the importance of studies of
the spatial organization of urban attributes and their influence on local climates and
microclimates to understand these interactions and adopt measures that can minimize negative
effects on environmental comfort of urban systems.
