dc.description.abstractDestination image is a widely debated topic in tourism studies. Due to the com- plexity, the destination image formation is a matter still under discussion and, therefore, with great opportunities for research.The aim of this study is to analyze the destination image models, in order to propose a hypothetical model that re- flects since the relationship between the destination image dimensions (cognitive, emotional, unique and overall), the influence of external factors and internal (in - formation familiarity, experiential, sociodemographic characteristics and motiva - tions), until the destination image influence on behavioral intentions (return and recommendation). The study brings contributions to the enrichment of literature with the proposition of a single model of formation and influence of tourist des - tination image.
