The final paper presented here is a continuity of the reflections created in the process of the mandatory curricular internship. These reflections are concerned to the performance of the social assistant at education, more specifically, in relation to the challenges found in the work processes, the use of technical-operative instruments and, besides, this paper aims to analyse, using data collection, the socio-economic profile of scholarship students of Nossa Senhora de Fátima School, the field of developing of the mandatory curricular internship, and of Nossa Senhora do Cenáculo School. The discussion of this paper seeks to approach concepts focused on the origin of Social Service as a profession in this country, making it necessary to present expressions of social issue as the subject of the work of the social assistant. For this purpose, the paper adopts conceptions of authors of Social Service field, which approach relevant discussions for this issue, through papers and texts. Moreover, interpretations on the origin of education and performance of Social Service are presented here, pointing out its challenges and possibilities as an educational professional. This paper also promotes a further understanding of theoretical discussion in terms of the interventional dimension of the profession, highlighting its singularities, in order to perform at the head at the set built by family, institution and the Social Service student. Therefore, for the foregoing, this paper proposes a problematization in relation to the two institutions mentioned before, in which, it identifies, through data collection obtained by means of the socio-economic reports of the scholarship students, that the profile of them is basically equal.
