Aspectos do transporte ferroviário a partir da literatura da ferrovia Norte-Sul

Abstract

Logistics is very important for agribusiness, being one of the main segments of the economy that is developing every day, through new technologies or with innovative ideas that help in the logistics management, thus motivating the strengthening of competitiveness in the sector. The objective of this work is to analyze aspects of the importance of rail transport to the grain export logistics of the companies located in the Northwest Region Rio do Sul/Brazil state. This research can be classified as exploratory, the technique used was the one of case study and the main instrument of data collection was the bibliographic research. The main conclusion is that rail is the most appropriate option for cargoes with large quantities of markets in the region under study. It is worth noting that because it has a long distance transport, its cost is low when compared to modal road transport. The railroad has a high importance for the Brazilian scenario, but with the passage of time it was deferred in relation to the road segment, so that the investments happened to be directed to roads. The elaboration of logistic strategies with multimodal and not only road would be an adequate alternative to improve the agribusiness competitiveness in Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil.
