This survey of teachers of municipal schools in the Municipality of Ronda Alta/RS, with the
theme: Continuing Teacher Training, developed from a theoretical framework and the
application of a questionnaire among school teachers, is characterized as a study Case, model
of qualitative research and aimed to understand the training needs of teachers of Municipal
Elementary School Mem de Sá Ronda Alta county, for the provision of adequate continuing
education, which implies ongoing training of teachers and contribute to improving the quality
of education offered. The research shows that it is necessary a new way to design the
continued teacher training, taking into account the school, the teachers of the playing field as
the primary professional training space for the permanent construction of teachers and needs
to be taken as commitment of all teachers who participate in it, because the current training is
not effective change in the practice of teachers. The continuing education of teachers needs to
be considered from the privileged place that is the school, as the school serves as a training
context of new knowledge about the need for real training of the subjects involved in an
ongoing training process, which shall consist of all teaching professional life. The practice of
reflexivity on teacher professional practice needs to happen in public school institution so that
the desired educational changes happen and improving education becomes effective.
