Produção científica em Ciências Contábeis e áreas afins no estado do RS: desempenho e viés das publicações

Abstract

The scientific production is an indicator of regional development. This study aimed to analyze the scientific production in accounting sciences and related areas in higher education institutions in the state of Rio Grande do Sul using the Scopus database. It was a descriptive quanti-quali analysis that registers the bias that the state has assumed in the area in the aspect of scientific production. The results give visibility to the university as the institution that promotes scientific production, and thus, UFRGS and UFSM stood out in relation to the production in the area. Also, the analysis of the results indicates that the terms most mentioned in the research are related to business competitiveness and business administration, with little emphasis on the topics covered by accounting. It was also highlighted that the widely used mean of publication is the magazine, as well as that the magazine most used for publications is "Revista Espacios".
