dc.description.abstract | Cobalt, nickel, copper and zinc acetate salts were reacted with the 1,4-α, α'-
xylenediylabis(phenylphosphinate) (XBPP) ligand and two-dimensional CoII and ZnII
coordination polymers were reacted with temperature control: by heating at reflux [Co
(XBPP)]-aP (1-aP, triclinic) and [Zn(XBPP)]-aP (3-aP, triclinic); hydrothermal reaction
(170 ° C and slow cooling) [Co(XBPP)]-mP (1-mP, monoclinic) and [Zn(XBPP)]-mP (3-
mP, monoclinic); dehydration (desiccator with concentrated sulfuric acid) [Co(XBPP)]-
am (1-am) from the compound [Co(OH2)6](XBPP)·2H2O. The reaction conditions did
not influence the synthesis with CuII and the compound [Cu(XBPP)] (2) was obtained.
The 4,4'-bipyridine bidentate co-ligand was used to increase the dimensionality of the
structures in relation to compounds already synthesized by the work group and the
coordination polymers of CoII and NiII, [Co(XBPP)(bpy)(OH2)2]·2H2O-mC (4-mC,
monoclinic), [Ni(XBPP)(bpy)(OH2)2]·2H2O-mC (5-mC, monoclinic),
[Ni(XBPP)(bpy)(OH2)2](bpy)(OH2)2]·2H2O-aP (5-aP, triclinic) and
[Co(XBPP)(bpy)(OH2)2]·2H2O-mC (4-aP, triclinic). The bipyridine-containing
compounds were subjected to two types of treatment for the removal of the bipyridine
group - oven heat treatment at 300 ° C or methanol extraction treatment - in order to
remove the bipyridine group and activate them for gas adsorption N2 ([Co(XBPP)-APL,
6-APL, [Co(XBPP)-APA, 6-APA and [Ni(XBPP)]-APA, 7-APA), with little adsorption
capacity observed. | |
