O ensino de probabilidade geométrica com o auxílio de jogos: uma experiência para o ensino médio

Geometric Probability enables to associate probability studies and geometric notions, but
usually is not studied in High School Math classes. The objective of this study is to
understand on what extent the development of activities involving the Geometric Probability
and using as resources the games, contributes to mathematics learning of students in the first
year of High School. The activities were developed in a public school in the city of Santa
Maria, with a group of first year. Were necessary four class periods for their development. As
data collection instrument used two questionnaires, one before the development of the
activities and another after. The results showed that most students did not know the
Geometric Probability, and that the proposed activity enabled students would use the
geometric knowledge that already had to solve probability problems.
