Resumen
A few years ago is happening a change in demographic and epidemiological profile world-wide, where the elderly population is increasing significantly, accompanied by non-communicable chronic morbidities, however, preventable and treatable, and other specific determinants of this age group and that will require actions primary of primary health care in order to provide quality of life for seniors. Adding to this, the recognition of the importance of universal access as one of the doctrinal principles of PHC and ensuring a focus on effective health. In this context it is necessary to know the progress of the assessment of access to health services for this population in order to obtain evidence that support the knowledge and decisions of evolvidos managers in this process. Thus, this study aims to identify the scientific evidence about the access of older people in primary health care. It is an integrative literature review, performing the search in the databases LILACS, PubMed and Scopus, and after the inclusion and exclusion criteria, nine studies formed the corpus of the same. It was possible to see the scientific evidence that access relates to the accessibility and use of primary care services, which is short of real health needs that the elderly population demand. There is need for further studies to search the access of the elderly as a research object, as well as a greater number of studies on the subject in order to base managers in decision making in search of an effective health care for the elderly.
