Resumen
This work analyzes the argumentative strategies used by CartaCapital and Veja in their websites, about the aggression to the presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PSL). The Argumentative Analysis methodology (BRETON, 1999) will be used, and forty-five reports published for one week (09/06 – 09/12) will be analyzed. In addition, we will be working with the concepts of electoral campaign and its outspreads based on Charaudeau (2016), Iasulaitis (2015), Rubim (2001), Salgado (2012), Miguel e Biroli (2011) and Ribeiro (2004). We will also discuss perspectives about the concepto of event, guided by Babo-Lança (2006), Queré (2005, 2012), França (2012), Weber (2013), Rebelo (2006) and Charaudeau (2013). The main conclusions are the points of divergence between the two objects analyzed, which have a marked way in the highlight given to the event. While CartaCapital was succinct, making only twelve publications in a week, Veja chose to narrate in detail the consequences of the episode during a week. There was also a difference in the terminology used by the magazines: while Veja affirmed that the candidate had been "stabbed" and "victim of an attack", Carta treated the event as "aggression" all the time.
